This webinar will review the common types of drugs that are tested in the behavioral sciences and biological sciences.  We will review the 4 major categories of psycho-active drugs: stimulants, depressants, opioids and hallucinogens. We will also review common disease treating drugs like NSAIDs, antibodies, antidepressants, and immunosuppressants that have been known to appear in passages.  Drugs are a big, open world! We will target this webinar to the drugs that we see often on the test!

On the MCAT

  • Psychoactive drugs will mostly be recall BUT the test will require that you make basic inferences about drugs from passage/question information. You may not need to know the specifics of Tamiflu but a passage can easily provide you with enough context.

  • Antibiotics and antibiotic resistance are often tested.

Testimonial

I think these webinars are really helpful! I like how they’re styled like a TED talk, so they don’t interfere with the day, but they’re really helpful review 🙂

I found everything helpful about these webinars: the explanations, the illustrations, just everything!

Amazing material conveyed concisely and in great detail!

The wealth of information and sample questions are great.

“These 30 minute FREE, live videos conducted each Friday helped me get through the pandemic. Weike is an exceptional tutor, and being able to ask questions after she’s done was magnificent. These webinars have even helped me in class subjects such as Biochemistry.  I’m looking forward to starting one-on-one tutoring with Cambridge Coaching, and I’m already feeling confident about taking the MCAT when the time comes.”
